Kiss Me I’m Irish

Monday, November 12th, 2012

Being Irish myself, I have friendships from early childhood and today with Irish heritage along with my family of course. Some of my family have had the privilege of traveling to Ireland together. The Claddagh Ireland’s cherished symbol is worn by millions in Ireland and around the world. Throughout each varying symbolism, a single theme shines through, specifically that the ring symbolizes the trinity of “Love, Loyalty, and Friendship”. Many couples choose the Claddagh as wedding rings. Personally, I feel the meaning of wedding rings are often over looked. Focusing more on the size of the stone, style and cost. Forgetting the circle represents the unity of two people coming together as one.

The Magical Legend Of The Leprechaun

As part of Irish mythology you may end up being the luckiest person alive if you ever manage to catch a Leprechaun but there again it could bring more than enough trouble for what its worth. They are very smartly dressed in small suites with waist coats, hats and buckled shoes. As mischievous and intelligent folk they are generally harmless to the population in Ireland, but Leprechaun’s are smart, devious little things  known for playing tricks. It is not an easy task to catch a leprechaun as they remain very well hidden from us humans, after all they are the “luck of the Irish”!

It is said that every Leprechaun has a pot of gold, hidden deep in the Irish countryside. . To protect the leprechaun’s pot of gold the Irish fairies gave them magical powers to use if ever captured by a human or animal. Such magic if capture would be to grant three wishes or vanish into thin air. Leprechauns are also very keen musicians who play various Irish traditional instruments such as tin whistles, fiddle and the harp. They are known to have wild music sessions at night with hundreds of Irish leprechauns gathering to dance, sing and drink. The leprechaun is fond of drinking moonshine, who love to cause chaos around Ireland at night time!

Of course our family has been following the fighting Irish for as long as I can remember. When I was a youngster my parents took us on many family vacations and one happened to be visiting the University of Notre Dame Campus in Indiana. It was a wish my father had that one of us would go to a Catholic college, especially there. As close as we came to that was my brother going to O’Dea Catholic High School in Seattle, WA and I attended John F Kennedy Catholic High School in Burien, WA

I will close with the best story of all. My Grandmother on my Dad’s side of the family was on her death bed in the hospital. When I went in to visit her for the last time she was at peace, she was ready to go home, but she still had the Fighting Irish football game on!

Tattoo books

Need tattoo ideas? A great way to get some inspiration is to look at tattoo books. This book above is from Amazon. I never seen this book, but it looks really interesting.

I find getting inspiration for my tattoos are really relaxing. I like making different notes and pictures of tattoos I like. I always find myself jotting something or drawing something. I carry a small little notebook on me in my purse with a bunch of tattoos and drawing I have done.

Does anyone else do this? I am very creative and it doesnt surprise me that I love tattoos because to me I find its a form to being creative and artistic.

According to Amazon.Com:

This all-new collection of hundreds of full-color photographs features the work of more than 70 leading tattoo artists from around the world, including superstars such as Hannah Aitchison, Paul Booth, Chris Garver, Corey Miller. Discover images of striking, abstract “tribal” pieces, elaborate air-brushed designs, all-over “body suits,” “sleeves,” and intricate, distinctive motifs.

Thank goodness its the weekend!!

Saturday, February 11th, 2012

What is everyone up to this weekend? I will be home resting. I have been sick all week and thought I really want to go out! I think it is a better idea to stay home and rest for a few more day before I go back to work. It gives me more time to look at hot tattoos!!

Speaking of hot tattoos, I am in love with the tattoo in the picture above! I thinking about maybe getting this but making it smaller and getting it on my ankle. I have NO tattoos  on my ankle, so this would look really good there. Since it is big. I also love the colors. I love everything about it. I don’t like coping peoples tattoos, but I really love this one. Maye I could change it up a little bit so I wont copy it all the way.

What are you doing this weekend?

What do you look for in a tattoo??

Friday, February 3rd, 2012

What do you look for when your making a decision on a tattoo? Do you go by color, shape or size?? For me, its all the above. I won’t lie, I have a few tattoos that I can say ” what the heck was I thinking when I got that”. But luckily there are awesome artist out there can do there magic of hiding bad tattoo. If your going to get a tattoo, you better make sure you want it FOR LIFE!

This is why I dont understand why men and woman put there man or ladies name on them. From personal experiance, NOTHING LAST FOREVER! So why do this? I would never put a mans name on my skin. The only way I would put a name on my body would be my childs name, my mother or fathers name or something God or Lord related. Nothing else!!! My skin is my skin! Not my ex boyfriend of 10 years ago!

Beautiful flowers!

Thursday, February 2nd, 2012

I LOVE flower tattoos! There is just something about flower tattoos that get every time! I enjoy searching google for flower tattoos. I actually do this a lot. When I am bored and have nothing to do. When I look at these tattoos, they give me a inspiration to design something new. I will not copy off the original design, but I like to throw in my very own flare of design. To make it my very own.

I never got into tattoos until I seen my brother get his first tattoo. My father and mother do not have any tattoos. I never had tattoos until this last year. I was married to a man who hated tattoos. Thought they were nasty. We ended our 7 year marriage and because I was no longer with the pain, I knew that I could get tattoos. He or nobody was stopping me from getting my very own first tattoo!!

Miss me? I missed this blog!

Wednesday, February 1st, 2012

Well hello there!!! It is been a LONG awhile since I updated this blog. I have been super busy with things. I know that is NO excuse, but I am back and I am going to start blogging again about my most favorite things in the world TATTOOS!!! Woo hoo!!!

Any of my viewers get new tattoos? I havent gotten any new ones since my last blog. I have been drawing up some ideas for new tattoo ideas. Someone told me that I should sell some of my tattoo ideas to some tattoo shops. Its a good way to make some money. Tattoo artists and shops are always looking for new designs. Why not get paid for my art work and my brain thinking about my designs? I need to make sure that if I do this, that I get proper credit. I dont want the tattoo artist to get credit for my art work. Yes he is the one drawing it, but it was MY idea for the design, colors and any other design feature I put with it.

Where do I put my tattoo?

Friday, August 5th, 2011

Thinking about getting a tattoo? There are some important things you should think about before getting a tattoo. First, you should think where you want your tattoo. The position of the tattoo will play a big role on your body. Depending on your tattoo, is your tattoo okay for work? If you work in a office or health care workforce, places like that might not like a tattoo to be shown. So always take this into consideration when getting your tattoo.

Tattoos on the leg and ankle area make great tattos. You can show off your beautiful and sexy tattoo while wearing your beautiful short prom dresses.

Love tattoos!

Monday, July 18th, 2011

I love tattoos! I remember getting my first tattoo. I was so nervous and scared. My best friend and I got our first tattoos together while vacationing. It was a spare of a moment sort of thing. We both knew that we wanted one. We had mention it before and talked about it causally, but while on our vacation we did it.

I remember being very scared and nervous. At one point I made myself so sick before I got it. I guess I was so nervous because I dint know what to expect. Not knowing how it is going to feel is a scary feeling. I did it and I love my tattoo! I plan on getting more!
